Meet the team behind YLA 2016!
YLA Malaysia is organised and run by consultants from the McKinsey & Company Kuala Lumpur office. The 2016 team are a group of passionate individuals who are excited to meet you and help make YLA 2016 a great experience!
Throughout the programme, you will be exposed to individuals that help make this programme unique – from senior members of McKinsey & Company who will be part of the faculty, to inspiring speakers and mentors that will guide and support you through this journey.

Ahmad graduated in Economics from the University of Warwick. Prior to McKinsey, Ahmad was working at Permodalan Nasional Berhad. His work there was mainly in the strategic investment unit, focusing on property and finance sector. While there, he held assignments at a private equity firm in New York as well as at a Malaysian-based pharmaceutical company. Ahmad is a huge football fan and loves being in a football stadium. While in the UK, he worked as a safety steward at football matches as it gave him access to the stadium. He is excited to help Malaysia’s brightest concoct the formula to take over the world and believes that there is no better place to meet Malaysia’s most talented youth.
Anusha has a BSc (Hons) in Actuarial Science from Cass Business School, London. Before returning home to Malaysia, Anusha worked in Barclays Capital as an investment banking Risk analyst for several years. Prior to joining McKinsey, she consulted with Malaysian Global Innovation Center (MaGIC) and Roland Berger Strategy Consultants in KL. Anusha has a passion for entrepreneurship and has dabbled in this space both in London and Malaysia. Anusha believes that YLA is a great platform to learn capabilities, build relationships, test ideas and push towards a final output together. She is looking forward to meeting the amazing people of YLA 2016 and being part of their journey.
Prior to joining McKinsey, Aren was involved in building a mind-controlled robot as an engineering undergrad at Imperial College as well as a start-up co-founder for a spotify for eBooks. In his spare time, he has also pursued a postgraduate law qualification and hiked the 3 highest peaks of England, Scotland, and Wales. He enjoys traveling, start-ups, and cooking.
Chin Loong graduated from Universiti Teknologi PETRONAS, and is an alumni of YLA 2010. A petroleum engineer in a former life, he received the Silver Vice Chancellor Award, and was the winner of both P&G Business Challenge and HSBC Challenge best visual award. Chin has an incredible energy and can always be found smiling! He is passionate about building the capabilities of others and is enthusiastic to share how thinking crazily outside the box can lead you to achieve surprising results. He is a firm believer that everything in life is a journey and your experiences shape you to be the leader you want to be.
Dipak holds a BCom. in Finance from The University of British Columbia and Master in Finance from Queen’s University, Canada. Prior to joining McKinsey, he was an Investment Banker in Hong Kong and Malaysia where he was involved in Equity Derivatives Structuring and Fixed Income Syndication respectively. From a young age, Dipak was curious to understand how global inter-relationships between economic, politics, and business impact society. Outside work he enjoys reading, power lifting, and eating good food. This is his first year volunteering for YLA and he looks forward to meeting the young and energetic youth of Malaysia.
Janne completed his Masters in Knowledge Management at Tampere University of Technology, Finland. Prior to McKinsey, he worked with the Human Capital Practice at Deloitte Consulting, ran his own consulting company, co-founded a co-working space for social entrepreneurs, and served as the lead developer for two successful startups. Janne is curious about how to bring the depth of the human journey to the workplace, particularly into leadership development. He spends his free time meditating, reading, and occasionally hitting the gym. Janne is excited to welcome the next batch of young Malaysians to find their true potential at YLA.
Joshua graduated with a Bachelor of Civil Engineering from the University of Melbourne. Prior to joining McKinsey, Joshua was involved with start-ups such as GoGet Malaysia, a mobile marketplace for errands and delivery, and HiddenStove, an online marketplace for home cooked food. Outside of work, Joshua enjoys travelling, watching football and playing sports, especially futsal.
Before joining McKinsey, Kok Hin spent 2 years teaching English in a Malaysian secondary school as a Teach For Malaysia Fellow, and was the chairperson of the Teach For Malaysia Alumni Board. He is also a co-founder of Project ID : Impianku, Destinasiku, a community project that helps secondary students achieve their ambitions through high-impact activities. He graduated from the University of Melbourne with a Bachelor of Commerce. In his free time, he enjoys swimming, reading and trekking.
Nabila holds a MA (Hons) in History and Politics from the University of Edinburgh. She is part of the External Relations team for Southeast Asia and is looking forward to meeting participants of YLA 2016.
Victoria did her Bachelor’s Degree in Electronic and Electrical Engineering at The University of Sheffield. During her studies, she worked as a content marketer and managed affiliate websites in the British gambling and iGaming industry. In her spare time, Victoria enjoys running and watching movies. She is new to YLA and is looking forward to being part of this vibrant family.
Prior to joining McKinsey, Zain spent spent four years in Malaysia in the biofuel space and consulting primarily in the public sector. Outside of work, Zain enjoys board games (especially Scrabble!), going to the movies, and soccer . Zain is keen to meet the future leaders of Malaysia at YLA 2016!
